Our worship services are planned for an audience of “ONE”. Real worship is meeting God. They are designed to help you worship God. It is bringing people into an encounter with God. Real worship helps us praise God collectively and unify our spirits with His spirit. We invite the Presence of God to be manifested among us. When we are truly gathered into worship, things occur that could never occur alone.
We love experiential worship. The means worship which is interactive, creative, communal, participatory, involving all the senses.
Expressions of Worship
We believe genuine life change occurs through authentic relationships. True community is when the masks come off, conversations get deep, hearts get vulnerable, lives are shared, accountability is invited and tenderness flows. Marks of authentic community are where we can love and be loved, know and be known, serve and be served, and celebrate and be celebrated.
This includes real acceptance. (Acts 2:42) Real acceptance involves looking at people, differences and all, and accepting them for who they are and how God made them. We do not just say we believe in the One True God, but we live what we say we believe openly within culture, inviting seekers to experience it for themselves within a safe environment. COMMUNITY is sharing authentic life pursuits with others through authentic relationships. It is more than being involved in the same Bible study or sharing prayer requests with a small group. It means having genuine relationships with one another, sharing all of life together - joys, struggles, challenges, change and triumphs.
Intentional Sharing is the expectation that all Christians are to intentionally share their faith with those they encounter as part of their normal everyday life. We are disciple makers who make disciples who make disciples. Marietta needs Intentional Sharing.
Purposefully sharing Christ with others for the goal of creating more worshipers and therefore multiplying the church is what intentional sharing is all about. It is truly a mission mind set. Sharing what God is doing in a believer's life is just another part of the Christian life.
Sharing Christ, intentionally, will not merely be an individual task, but will be the responsibility of every follower working together in community. We will share Christ's life by relating to the people of East Cobb, identifying with them, and engaging them in friendship, conversation, ministry and witness.
Holistic Growth is helping people experience transformation in themselves completely. We emphasize the four truths about life change.
It begins at salvation. Salvation is the beginning of the journey toward life change. We start with a person's identity, their spirit and move through the mind, will, emotions and then to the body.
Life change is intentional. It takes more than just time to change a life. Simply being exposed to information does not mean that people absorb it, understand it or embrace it. We will help people grow from the inside out. Our belief is that each person is a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body.
Life change is about training, not trying.
Life change occurs in community. Discipleship was never intended to be a solo event.
SALVATION +INTENTIONALITY+TRAINING+COMMUNITY=LIFE CHANGE
The word ministry means “that which serves”. A ministry actually meets a real need people have. The most effective ministries in churches are those that are based on knowledge of the needs and interests of the people a church is trying to minister to. It has to be a real need. Meeting people at the place of need is important.
The Bible teaches that every believer is a minister (Eph. 4:11-12), has been given at least one spiritual gift (Rom. 12:3-8, 1 Cor. 12, Eph. 4:1-16), and commands that we operate in the area of our gifts. We want to help people realize that they can make a positive difference in the lives of people by utilizing their unique talents and abilities.
Everyone is a minister.
Jesus said, "I didn't come to be served, but to serve." We will follow Jesus and serve the same.
